The Project
Increasing and maintaining the quality of youth work across Europe is key to achieving the Youth Goals, and this can be done by ensuring youth organisations and youth workers are able to learn from each other by recognizing and sharing good practices of other European youth projects, increasing the quality of youth work, the skills, competences and understanding of youth workers.
The relevant existing information available relating to the measurement of impact and evaluation of impact assessment is undertaken as part of complex academic research hypotheses, analysis and presented in the form of reports covering theoretical frameworks of implementation. There is a lack of consistency and standardisation at the level required to be scaled up and adopted at a pan- European level. There is a distinct lack of standardised, flexible tools which link local, regional and national youth organisations with the policy makers at EU level. A set of digital tools which is aligned with the European Commission, but can be implemented by youth organisations at all levels to prepare, plan, implement, measure, monitor, evaluate and learn from other youth projects would go a long way to bridging the gap between the current involvement of youths and youths workers in EU youth policy.
01 GrowYOUth Digital Tool and Platform |
The GrowYOUth digital tool is an interactive, user-managed tool which allows youth workers and youth project coordinators to quantify the social, and environmental impacts of European funded projects and programmes. By entering data, results and information about/from the project into the GrowYOUth tool, the tool generates an 'Impact Snapshot' - a type of report which will allow users to generate a summary of the impact of their project to a given date. This can be used for interim and final reports, as well as to inform the organisation on their best approaches and tools for ensuring expected impact, prior to or at the beginning of a project. The tool can also be used to summarise impact for interim and final project reports. All users can put in their own input by a pre-agreed or requested deadline. The GrowYOUth digital system summarises it. By registering your project on the platform, the system allows the stakeholders to track the project impact over the course of the lifetime of the project, providing graphs and infographics of impact indicators. |
02 GrowYOUth Digital Training Course |
This output is an ecourse aimed at the intended users of the digital tool and platform. The ecourse is accessible entirely online, and allow users to choose the purpose for which they plan to use the GrowYOUth digital tool. The recipients of this ecourse will be able to take their wealth of knowledge they have about their project's local, regional and national context and with the help of the GrowYOUth digital tool, contextualise that to understand where their local impact sits in terms of EU policy. Available moduls:

03 GrowYOUth Community of Practice |
This output is a collaborative network by 30 experts in the specific field of youth policy impact, at local, regional, national and EU level. These six communities of practice from Cyprus, Denmark, Hungary, Romania, and Lithuania supported the project objectives, outputs and target groups, in the development of the most suited programmes and materials as well as provided the consortium with direct technical and pedagogical feedback on the new contents beyond the expertise of the consortium. The communities of practice also engaged in the project outputs during piloting phases and provided expert insight and guidance on initiatives and actions to be taken during the project that helped sustain and grow the activities at local level beyond the project lifetime. The outcome of this task is a database listing the contact data and expertise of all members. |
04 GrowYOUth Tool Assessment and Policy Recommendations |
This output provides a scientific and technical evaluation of the piloting phases throughout the project. Secondly, this output provides an impact assessment report, aimed at providing policy recommendations to key national and European level stakeholders. This output produced an evidence-based impact assessment report which presents the feedback gathered from each of the piloting phases and stakeholder engagement activities, an analysis of the findings and gives policy recommendations based on the assessed impact at local, regional, national and European level. This output is the key resource used to maximise project exploitation and sustainability by providing a comprehensive evidence-based report on the impacts achieved through the project activities, the potential impacts which may be achieved through a longer term implementation plan and larger model of scaling up the methodology. This output provides a range of information and findings from the piloting phases and overall project implementation. The evaluation of the piloting phases drew all the information together and produced an overview of the impact over the life cycle of the project, which drew together the various different results, conclusions and recommendations from the project lifespan into an evidence-based report. |
